National Business Center
The National Business Center home page is an award-winning web site that combines mission critical information as well as employee access to office functions. Specifically, the NBC home page provides NBC and DOI employees one-click secure web access to their email systems as well as web access to their Time and Attendance systems. These services can be accessed remotely for mobile employees. The NBC web site also includes access to online presentations for offsite demonstrations.

Department of the Interior
The National Business Center partnered with the Office of the Secretary’s Communications Office and the Secretary’s Chief of Staff to provide a customer-centered Web presence for the Department of Interior’s Homepage. The new DOI web site is focused on the customer, providing enhanced quality and availability of products, services, and opportunities, improved timeliness of information, better accessibility, and improved mission achievement. The DOI web site is organized by areas of interest to the customer. DOI news releases are also included on the Homepage, but they are not the focal point of the site.

Office of the Special Trustee for American Indians (OST)
Established by the American Indian Trust Fund Management Reform Act of 1994 (Public Law 103-412), the Office of the Special Trustee for American Indians (OST) was created to improve the accountability and management of Indian funds held in trust by the federal government. As trustee, the Department of the Interior has the primary fiduciary responsibility to manage both Tribal trust funds and Individual Indian Monies (IIM) accounts, as well as the resources that generate the income for those accounts.

The Interior Museum
The Department of the Interior Museum is located on the first floor of the Main Interior Building at 1849 C Street NW, Washington, DC. The Museum is accessible from both the C Street and E Street entrances; the E Street entrance is wheelchair accessible. The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) Museum educates the public and DOI employees about the current missions and programs of the Department of the Interior, the history of the Department, and the art and architecture of its headquarters building in Washington, DC.

DOI Watch Office
The Watch Office provides timely reporting on critical information and serious incidents that impact the Department's responsibilities across the United States. It coordinates with the law enforcement, emergency management and security demands placed on the Department as a result of additional homeland security responsibilities and serves as a resource to all bureaus and offices, as well as other cooperating agencies. The Watch Office is customer-driven and provides critical services to Department and bureau leadership, law enforcement, security managers and emergency management.

DOI Office of Insular Affairs
The Secretary of the Interior has administrative responsibility for coordinating federal policy in the territories of American Samoa, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the responsibility to administer and oversee U.S. federal assistance provided to the Freely Associated States of the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau under the Compacts of Free Association. The Office of Insular Affairs executes these responsibilities on behalf of the Secretary.

Financial and Business Management System - FBMS
The Department of the Interior is implementing the Financial and Business Management System (FBMS). FBMS will provide Interior with standard business practices supported by a single, integrated finance and administrative system for all Bureaus. FBMS is an integrated suite of software applications that will help Interior to manage a variety of business functions, including: Budget Formulation, Budget Execution, Core Financials, Personal, Real, and Fleet Property, Acquisition, Travel, Financial Assistance, and Enterprise Management Information

Modernization of the Main Interior Building
The DOI Modernization web site tracks the modernization efforts of the Main Interior Building. The DOI Main Interior Building infrastructure is being improved to conform to current health and safety standards. The Main Interior building was constructed in 1936; most building systems are original. Interior and GSA have been planning this project since 1992. Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) system, plumbing, electrical distribution and wiring will be replaced to provide adequate capacity for current and projected requirements.

Appraisal Request & Review Tracking System (ARRTS)
The Appraisal Request & Review Tracking System (ARRTS) was developed to provide a common submission process for appraisal requests to the new appraisal organization within the National Business Center. In addition, it provides a process for forwarding the request for approval and assignment, and a mechanism for tracking and reporting on appraisal projects.

Customer Agreements
The Automated Customer Agreement application is a secure Internet-based suite of modules developed by the National Business Center (NBC) to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the NBC customer agreement process. Automated Customer Agreement Application Features are: secure persistent session management using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and User Authentication; electronic user registration; automatic generation of agreement number; customer agreement search capability; web-enabled customer agreement; statement of work and route list preparation with data validation to ensure data integrity; route for approval with email notification; audit trail and status reports; on-line help utility; integration with the NBC Federal Financial System.

Datacall Tracking System
The Department of the Interior must respond to a variety of Datacall Requests from a broad range of Government and public customers, such as OMB and Congress. Due to the repetitive nature and considerable resources required to reply to hundreds of requests annually, PMB employed the services of the NBC’s eApplications Development Team to create a web-based system to consolidate and streamline this process.

Fair Act web site
Federal Activity Inventory system that allows online search and display of the Department’s inventory of commercial functions (in compliance with federal law to make publicly available) to give bureaus fair opportunity to review and submit timely challenge or appeal requests.

Online Credit Card Payment Processing
This application allows users to pay for products and services with their credit cards online. This web application also records and preserves all the transaction data for review and reporting and the application manager can add, modify, and delete application users and to control user access privileges. The application also allows for custom report building of transaction data. The major benefit of this application is that it will save in processing costs for credit card transactions and it is completely web based and portable and there is virtually no training required.

Office of Environmental Policy and Compliance (OEPC)
The Office of Environmental Policy and Compliance (OEPC) provides National and Regional leadership and direction in the coordination and development of environmental policy and program evaluation. It provides for a coordinated and unified approach and response to environmental issues that affect multiple bureaus in order to ensure that the Department of the Interior speaks as one entity with respect to those issues.

Conference Announcements
The National Business Center provides conference web sites that include: on-line conference registration, on-line credit card acceptance capability, posting of conference information (conference title, theme, date, location logistics, registration deadline and charge date, and late registration fee assessed), posting of conference agenda, posting of training descriptions with selection options during registration, posting of field trip descriptions with selection options during registration, ability to execute registration reports.

Accessibility Technology Center
The mission of the DOI Accessible Technology Program is to support employees with disabilities by determining the appropriate assistive technology and ergonomic solutions tailored to the needs of each individual. The site is hosted at the DOI.GOV domain and is currently up and in production. The ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Opening of the facility was October 5, at 12:00 noon. The NBC designed the entire system as well as testing all web applications for Section 508 compliance. Currently, NBC is enhancing this web site with a Technology Request tracking system web application.

Financial Statement Trailhead
(Consolidated Financial Statement System)

The Financial Statement Trailhead web site is the gateway to the DOI’s Consolidated Financial Statement (CFS) System, used to prepare the department’s annual financial statements. These financial statements are required by law, and must be submitted to the Department of the Treasury, to Congress and, finally, to the President of the United States.
