Archived NewsCurrent News ReleasesAs a Federal Government Center of Excellence, the NBC continues to expand its customer base and to provide additional services to our existing valued clients. The Aviation Management Directorate (AMD) consummated agreements and provided operational support for the following activities; a Helirappel Program that allows for helicopter deployment of emergency personnel at the Grand Canyon and surrounding area, joint helicopter hoist operations between National Park Service and the California Highway Patrol within Yosemite National Park, and the first ever deployment of commercial helicopters on a U.S. military ship, the US Coast Guard Cutter HEALY in support of the National Science Foundation (NSF). Through a joint effort between the Federal Personnel Payroll Systems and Services Directorate (FPPSS), and the Budget and Finance Directorate (B&FD), the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board (FRTIB) becomes one of the first clients to take advantage of two of NBC's OMB approved Lines of Business (LOB), the Financial Management Line of Business (FM LOB) and the Human Resources Line of Business (HR LOB). (June 2006) Winter 2006 NBC Profile Newsletter Now AvailableThe Winter 2006 NBC Profile newsletter is now available in HTML viewable format and PDF printable format ( NBC Announces Strategic Plan for FY06-FY10The National Business Center (NBC) is pleased to announce the public release of the NBC Strategic Plan for FY06 - FY10. This five-year strategic plan for the NBC defines the vision, strategy, and goals for the NBC to become the preferred Center of Excellence (COE) and provider of administrative and management support services within the DOI and to external Federal Agencies. In addition, it describes the human and technical capabilities necessary to achieve this COE vision and depicts the roadmap - the set of related initiatives - required for the vision to be achieved. The NBC has linked its strategic direction to the Presidents Management Agenda (PMA) by aligning its own mission, vision, and goals to the vision and strategic direction of the PMA. The NBC's mission is To Provide Quality Services and Efficient Solutions to Meet Customer Business Needs Through its Most Important Asset - its People.
