IDEAS-EC - Electronic Commerce

The NBC Electronic Commerce Web site seamlessly links with other E-GOV initiatives under the Integrated Acquisition Environment (IAE) such as Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) and Central Contractor Registration (CCR).

The NBC EC Web site was created to provide government procurement offices with the tools necessary to interact with the vendor community from their own desktops for both simplified acquisitions and large contracts.  Business Opportunities is a complete Internet solution that allows the public and vendors to search our web site for any Request for Quotations (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals/Invitations for Bids (RFP/IFB) that are currently posted.  Vendors may search all available documents or complete a selected search.  A selected search includes some or all of the following options:

• Agency Name
• Document Number
• Product Service Code (PSC)
• North American Industrial Classification Code (NAICS)
• Issue Date(s)
• Close Date(s)
• DUNS number (If a document has been directed to a particular vendor)

The information posted on the NBC EC Web site provides vendors the ability to view and quote on Simplified Acquisition actions and their associated Amendments and any attachments on-line.  Vendors are notified when the applicable procurement office has received their quote.  Vendor’s quote evaluation forms are automatically created in the Procurement Systems used by client agencies and electronically routed to the contracting professional who posted the document.

Once logged into the NBC EC Web site, registered vendors also have access to the Department of Interior’s Advanced Procurement Plan (APP), which forecasts DOI’s future procurement actions from individual DOI Bureaus.

The NBC EC Web site also provides the opportunity to view Request for Proposals/Invitation for Bids and their associated Amendment(s) and attachments.  Vendors may also choose to be added to the Bidder's Mailing List, which will notify them of any amendments to the solicitation and let vendors share information related to sub-contracting opportunities.  Additionally, procurement awards, modifications, task orders, and delivery orders are posted on the Business Opportunities web site for the vendors to download. Awardees are automatically sent an e-mail notification to retrieve their award documents through the web site.  Award summaries are also posted on the Web site.
